‌작가가 스스로 자기작품에 대해 말을 한다는 것은 쑥스러우면서도 어렵다. 완벽하게 풀이하는 것 역시 불가능하다. 미술은 일반적으로 언어와 달리 시각적으로 표현한 것으로 언어로 표현하는 데 한계가 있다. 나아가 뛰어난 풀이가 되려 작품의 표현에 방해가 될 수도 있다. 작가가 추구하는 예술이 그 자체로 관객들의 감정을 두드려 그들의 인생을 토대로 각자 해석을 도출해 내고 소통하는 것이기에.

작가는 관객들에게 단순하고 이해하기 쉽게 다가가고 싶어 한다. 혁신이란 미명 아래 움직이는 현대미술과는 달리 작가는 우리에게 익숙한 평면 예술 안에 이미지, 색, 그리고 반복된 선으로 표현한다. 우리가 갖고 있는 회화, 또는 평면예술에 대한 재해석을 통해 새롭게 자리매김 하고자 한다.

우리가 읽고 쓰는 글은 선으로부터 시작되고 우리는 그 이미지를 보고, 배우고, 소통을 한다. 자아가 없는 어린아이에게 그릴 수 있는 무언가를 쥐어 주면 선을 반복적으로 끄적이듯 작가의 작품에 있어서 선이란, 가장 단순하고 순수한 감정표현의 이미지이며 우리 모두가 갖고 있는 무의식 속에 언어이다. 작가는 선을 통해 단순한 그림이 아닌, 퍼포먼스 역시 가능한 평면작품을 구사한다. 선은 방향성을 잃기 쉽고, 작가가 어떠한 방식으로 그려냈는지 관객들이 상상할 수 있는 표현력을 가지고 있기 때문이다. 마구 끄적이듯 그려진 선들과 그 선들을 다시 긁어내고 덧칠하며 표현된 행위의 흔적은 현재 현대미술이란 시대 속에 속한 작가 자신의 처지와 상황을 담아낸 이미지이다.

‌For the artist to speak of his works is both embarrassing and challenging. A perfect interpretation, also, is impossible. Art is unlike what we usually take for a language, and possesses its own raison d'être(reason for being). Art is a visual medium, and words face limitations in expressing what is entirely visually composed. Furthermore, a great commentary may inadvertently interfere with a full expression of the art: The artist pursues to create pieces that can communicate on their own terms, that reach into the depths of each perceiver’s emotions to meet an interpretation each as unique as the individual’s life.

The artist wants to approach the audience in a simple and easy way. In contrast to contemporary art moving under the name of innovation, the artist pursues new discovery by reinterpretation.

The text we read and write it starts with the lines. And we see that images from the lines, we learn and communicate each other. Hand a crayon to an infant, still without a fully developed sense of self, and it will repeatedly draw lines. Likewise, the artist understands the lines in his works to be the purest and simplest. Through the line, the artist also uses painting that capable of performing arts. The line is easy to read, and it has expressive power that the audience can imagine how the artist painted it. The traces of scratched lines and scraped out that repeated acts in his paintings are showing his situation and position at the same time of contemporary art today.
